You are what you eat!

A post gastric bypass diet is VERY important if you wish to be successful with your weight loss. I decided to break the diet part of this site down in 2 sections, the "during diet" and the "post gastric bypass diet." First things first, you don't eat junk food. You can't have it, it's not good for you, and you will not want to eat it after your body adjusts to it. "You lie!" No, I don't, and I thought everyone who said this was a liar too. Your body will learn to reject sweets, although it will take a considerable amount of time.

Now this isn't going to be rocket science, this is going to be basic information that you will need to know so that you can be healthy. As I have said countless times over and over, you will be very prone to vitamin deficiencies. The best way to combat this is to have a complete diet, as well as a multivitamin. Ok, preach mode off, onto the diet!

After about three months you will be on to your new and improved diet. You should expect to eat three fairly small meals a day and three small snacks a day. Your meals will include lean sources of protein like chicken with no skin, no fat cottage cheese, etc... You will also be eating fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Don't eat sugary foods, and don't eat fatty foods. You get NOTHING from them, they are nutritionless garbage. I know it tastes good, but is it really worth it? You just dropped 20 grand on surgery, don't piddle it away with fast food. Also, keep in mind that you digestive system is probably going to change by quite a bit. Your body will not tolerate some new foods, and it will be best to introduce them into your system one at a time. Do this so that you can pinpoint exactly what it is that is bothering you. You don't want to have to be sick all the time only to find out that it was a certain food that will killing your stomach. Your long term success will depend on one thing, you. If you don't change your lifestyle you will go straight back to the way you were. It's not worth it, eat healthy and live for decided longer than you were going to. You deserve it.
